There is a new chapter in the Firebird Tutorial for .NET: Firebird Data Access Designer (DDEX) installation.

Follow these instructions to get Firebird support in the Visual Studio .NET 2005 (Standard and up):

• Browse Firebird databases in the Server Explorer
• Use "Configure Data Source" Wizard to configure SqlDataSource component
• Connection Properties editor
• etc.

No need for Visual Studio SDK!
